How it’s to be a Biologist

What’s a Biologist? A Biologist is someone who study the living and the environments of the living. They do research in many domains, for example, they do research in human medicals, on environmental system or at the cellular level and many other domains related to life. A Biologist is a lot like a student, because he’s always learning, but instead of learning from books, they learn from the life. Biologist conduct research in discrete areas. The Biochemist do research and analyze on tissue samples to test new hypotheses. And the marine biologist does research on marine populations and use different instruments and places in the research like an oceanography center or a sonar. The majority of Biologist have a post-graduate degree, because they occupy positions of authority, but for bachelor’s degree Biologist some entry-level positions are available. With a master’s degree, researchers can direct their research and do more things like on-site sampling and interviews in their field. the type of company who engaged Biologist are Health institutes, Environmental Protection groups, but the type of company who engage the most Biologist are the pharmaceutical companies for the research in their labs and they develop new products.

A biologist has a good life quality because of the salary and the feeling of satisfaction when you succeed in your research, but they miss a lot of social with their families or with others because of the work and the time spending in labs. A new Biologist, after 5 years in labs, generally promoted to field work but for those who are not promoted they change fields or they get additional credentials. With the work on field comes advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantage is the increase of the salary and some disadvantages are unpredictable work environment and the time of research increase. After 10 years, a lot of Biologist are in high graded positions such as assistant directors of research, some are finishing their Ph.D.s and working at the same time and some join professional organizations or committees.
